How STATRA Health collects, uses, stores and protects your personal health data — and your rights as a user.
Who we are
STATRA Health is a remote health monitoring platform built specifically for people living with sickle cell disease. You operate the STATRA wearable band, the STATRA mobile application, and the STATRA care team web dashboard (collectively referred to as the "Platform"). STATRA Health is the data controller responsible for your personal data collected through the Platform.
Data we collect
We collect data in three categories: data you provide directly, data collected automatically by the STATRA Band, and data inferred through your use of our digital products. Data you provide: Account information: name, email address, date of birth, country of residence, selected profile and/or cell genotype (if provided). Insurance or care team information you choose to register. Care team members you invite and the permissions you assign them. Transaction and card details you make to your doctor. Payment information processed securely via our payment provider. STATRA does not store card details.
How we use your data
We use your data to provide, maintain, improve and support the STATRA platform. We do not use health data for marketing, profiling or advertising. Providing the service: transmitting real-time biometric data to your dashboard, care team, and doctor portal. Generating insights and alerts based on personal biometric baseline to power early warning crisis detection. Clinical communication: sending your care team and invited doctors to view your trend data and receive alerts. Platform improvement: anonymised and aggregated data used to improve alert accuracy. Account protection: to verify your identity, communicate with you securely, and prevent fraud. Legal compliance: where required by applicable law or in life-threatening emergency situations.
Who can see your data
Access to your data is strictly limited to the following parties: You: full access to all your data at all times through the STATRA app and web portal. Care team: only the members you explicitly invite. Doctors see only the data you share. STATRA care team staff: access is limited at any time. STATRA care team: only in the event of a critical emergency and, used only to administer support. Authorised infrastructure providers: cloud storage and processing providers under strict data processing agreements. Law enforcement or legal: aligned with independent access rights to your identifiable data: legal authorities only where compelled by law and we will notify you where legally permitted to do so.
Data storage & security
STATRA takes data security seriously. We implement the following measures to protect your information at every stage of its lifecycle. Encryption: in transit, all data transmitted from the band to our cloud infrastructure is encrypted using TLS 1.3. At rest, all stored personal and health data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption. Access control: internal access protocols are aligned with RBAC models and audited quarterly by an independent third party. Access controls reset at 12h but are logged in our cybersecurity tools. Retention timelines: aggregated trend data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data may be retained for research purposes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email and through an in-app notification at least 14 days before such changes take effect. Continued use of the STATRA Platform after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. All previous versions of the policy are available upon request.
Cookies
The STATRA website uses cookies to ensure the platform functions correctly and to understand how visitors interact with our content. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics: we use privacy-preserving analytics to improve the website and app to function. Functional: the STATRA activity cookies store temporarily usage data to improve our product — you may opt out in your account settings. Preferences: cookies remember your settings such as language and notification preferences.
